Creating Assessments

Assessments are the core of the Aynstyn experience. You can run a direct assessment (text/voice) or start a Recommendation Engine playbook journey from the Assessment page.

Assessment Process

  1. Select Path: Choose a Recommendation Engine playbook or run a direct assessment.
  2. Provide Input: Share your understanding through text or voice.
  3. AI Analysis: Aynstyn evaluates strengths, gaps, and execution readiness.
  4. Actionable Output: Get scored feedback and a clear next-step path.

Recommendation Engine Playbooks (Assessment Page)

Playbooks are pre-built, outcome-focused journeys visible inside Assessment. They are grouped by Exam, Career, and Skill, with search and shuffle support.

What Happens on Start Journey

  1. Journey Review Popup: You see expected outcome, duration, and all actions before confirming.
  2. Run Starts from Tomorrow: Actions are created with daily cadence.
  3. Planner Auto-Creation: Every playbook action is added to Planner automatically.
  4. My Assessments Assignment: Assessment actions are assigned and shown as upcoming/new assessments.
  5. Guided Session Wizard: A 3-step in-app booking flow opens (Assessments → Mode → Timings).
  6. Programmatic Booking: Once you confirm timings, sessions are booked in the background and locked to your playbook timeline.

Standard Playbook Action Pattern (7 Days)

  • Day 1: Assessment 1
  • Day 2: Assessment 2
  • Day 3: Practice Session 1
  • Day 4: Reflection 1 (subject-specific prompt)
  • Day 5: Assessment 3
  • Day 6: Practice Session 2
  • Day 7: Final Interview

Each playbook also displays a clear Outcome statement so users understand what capability they should build by the end of the journey.

Playbook Journeys

Playbook Journeys are structured, outcome-driven learning paths that combine assessments, practice sessions, interviews, and reflections in one timeline. They are designed to remove guesswork and help you move step-by-step.

How the Playbook Flow Works

1

Choose and Start

From the Assessment page, pick a playbook under Exam, Career, or Skill. Review the action plan and click Start Journey.

2

Review Checkpoints

The booking wizard first shows assessment checkpoints so your sessions stay tied to the right context.

3

Choose Session Mode

Select Web or Phone. For phone mode, include your number with country code (for example, +1 or +91).

4

Set Timings and Lock

Set time for each session (usually 2 practice + 1 interview). When you confirm, all sessions are booked automatically and locked to this playbook run.

What Gets Created Automatically

  • Planner Entries: Actions appear in your Planner with scheduled dates.
  • Assessment Assignments: Due assessments are created and tracked in sequence.
  • Reflection Prompts: Reflection steps are seeded to support retention and thinking depth.
  • Interview Entries: Scheduled sessions appear in the Interview tab in chronological order.

Editing, Cancelling, and Deleting

  • Scheduled Session Cancel: Cancelling from Interviews removes it from both Aynstyn and the booking provider.
  • Pending Playbook Entry Delete: Locked/pending entries can be deleted from the Interviews tab.
  • Sorting: Upcoming playbook interview/practice items are shown earliest-first so execution order is clear.

Reminders and Notifications

  • Phone Sessions: Eligible for WhatsApp reminders before session time.
  • Web Sessions: Can also receive reminders when a valid phone is available in profile/contact data.
  • Tip: Keep your country code and phone number updated for best reminder accuracy.

Important Note

Playbook sessions are meant to be followed as a sequence. Once timings are locked, they are tied to your run timeline to preserve learning progression and context quality.

Input Methods

Aynstyn supports multiple ways to share your knowledge, making the assessment process flexible and convenient.

Text Input

Type or paste your thoughts directly into the assessment area. Perfect for detailed explanations and structured content.

Voice Assessment

Record your voice to share knowledge naturally. Great for explaining complex concepts or when you prefer speaking over writing. See the Voice Assessment section below for details.

Voice Assessment

Voice Assessment allows you to demonstrate your knowledge by speaking naturally. Our interactive AI guides you through the process, transcribing your thoughts and providing immediate clarity before you submit for final analysis.

How Voice Assessment Works

1

Interactive Recording

Start a session and speak naturally. Our system captures your voice in segments, allowing for an interactive and natural flow of ideas.

2

Real-time Transcript

As you speak, our high-accuracy AI generates a live transcript of your audio. You can see exactly how your spoken knowledge is being interpreted.

3

Review & Refine

Review the generated transcript. You can see the full text of your spoken response and ensure everything is captured correctly before proceeding.

4

Final Submission

Submit your verified transcript for a deep-dive AI analysis of your competence, identifying strengths and knowledge gaps.

Voice Minutes Allocation

All new users receive 3 free voice minutes to try the feature, regardless of plan.

Real Examples

Include real-world examples and applications to demonstrate deeper understanding and practical knowledge.

Aynstyn Agent

Aynstyn Agent is the guided action layer inside Aynstyn. It helps users move from intention to execution by keeping track of readiness, current focus, weak areas, upcoming commitments, and the next best actions to take.

Core Capabilities

Intent-Aware Guidance

The agent understands whether a request should be answered, clarified, planned, or turned into a concrete action flow.

Readiness Tracking

It maintains a live view of current focus, readiness, weak areas, upcoming items, and suggested next actions.

Guided Clarification

The agent asks for missing details when a prompt is vague, instead of pushing users into the wrong tool too early.

Confirmation Before Action

Before creating records or triggering a workflow, Aynstyn Agent asks for confirmation so actions stay intentional and auditable.

Bounded Tool Execution

It can route users into assessments, playbooks, practice sessions, interview preparation, and team assessment flows using Aynstyn's product rules.

One Continuous Flow

Chat, follow-up state, confirmation, and results stay attached to the same thread so users do not lose continuity.

What Aynstyn Agent Can Help With

  • Understand a subject and recommend the next best learning move
  • Assess current level now or save an assessment for later
  • Create or refine a playbook journey for a subject
  • Turn weak areas from assessments into a structured recovery course
  • Guide practice-session preparation or scheduling
  • Guide interview preparation or scheduling
  • Review current focus, weak areas, and upcoming commitments in one place

How It Works

1

Describe the Goal

Tell Aynstyn Agent what you want to improve, prepare for, or understand better.

2

Clarify the Intent

The agent can ask follow-up questions and decide whether the request should be handled as explanation, diagnosis, planning, or execution.

3

Review the Next Step

The agent surfaces readiness context, suggested next actions, and the most relevant product path.

4

Confirm and Execute

If a record or workflow should be created, the agent asks for confirmation before proceeding.

What You Can Say

Aynstyn Agent understands natural language. You don't need to use exact commands — just describe what you want. Here are examples of what you can type or say for each action:

Tip: The agent picks up your intent automatically. If it needs more detail (like a subject or date), it will ask a follow-up question before proceeding.

  • "Assess me on React"
  • "Test my knowledge of Macroeconomics"
  • "Evaluate me on Data Structures"
  • "Start an assessment on UPSC General Studies"
  • "Quiz me on Python"

  • "What should I focus on next?"
  • "Give me an overview of where I stand"

Confirming or Cancelling an Action

When the agent proposes an action (like scheduling a session or creating a goal), it will ask for your confirmation. You can respond naturally:

  • To confirm: "Yes", "Confirm", "Go ahead", "Do it", "Looks good", "That's right"
  • To cancel: "No", "Cancel", "Stop", "Don't do that", "Never mind"

Learning Goals & Courses

Transform your learning objectives into actionable plans. Aynstyn lets you set specific goals, breaks them into manageable topics, and now includes concise roadmaps, interactive learning modules, and execution support tools.

How It Works

1

Set Your Goal

Define what you want to learn (e.g., "Master React.js" or "Understand Indian History"). You can also describe a problem you're facing.

2

Get Your Roadmap

Our AI analyzes your goal and generates a structured list of essential topics you need to cover to achieve it.

3

Take Mini Courses

New Feature: For any topic in your roadmap, instantly generate a personalized Mini Course with:

  • Clear conceptual overviews and analogies
  • Short interactive exercises (drag-and-drop, concept grouping)
  • Key takeaways and practical applications
  • Curated YouTube recommendations
  • Mathematical formulas (if applicable)
4

Track Progress

Mark topics as complete as you learn. Your overall goal progress updates automatically.

Assessment-Based Courses

Aynstyn also supports a more comprehensive course flow built from real weak areas identified in assessments. Instead of starting from a broad goal, this course starts from the topics where the learner actually underperformed.

Where it starts: Courses can be created from the Courses tab using recent assessments with identified weak areas, and can also be surfaced from assessment-result flows.

How Assessment Courses Work

1

Identify Weak Areas

Aynstyn reads the missing or weak topics from your assessment report and groups them into the most useful recovery path.

2

Generate A Recovery Course

The system creates a more detailed course than a goal mini-course, with grouped modules, clear objectives, teaching content, and active-learning components.

3

Learn In A Structured Player

The course opens in a dedicated layout with modules on the left, lesson content in the center, and examples, cases, notes, and exercises on the right.

4

Move Back Into Practice

Once the weak areas are clearer, the learner can return to practice, reassessment, or interview preparation with stronger foundations.

What An Assessment Course Includes

  • Course Title: A focused recovery course for a specific assessment gap cluster
  • Grouped Modules: 3 to 5 modules built from the weak topics
  • Lesson Objectives: One clear outcome per module
  • Lesson Content: Structured teaching that explains concepts, why they matter, common mistakes, worked examples, and application
  • Checkpoint Quiz: One in-module multiple-choice check to verify understanding
  • Practice Exercises: Short action-oriented prompts to apply the lesson
  • Explain-Back Prompt: A guided active-recall block where the learner explains the concept back in their own words
  • Scenario Card: A realistic applied situation when the topic benefits from contextual thinking
  • Peer / Interviewer Challenge: A question designed to pressure-test understanding from another perspective

Goal Mini Courses vs Assessment Courses

Goal Mini Courses

Shorter topic-based courses generated from learning goals. Best for exploration, orientation, and lightweight concept building.

Assessment Courses

Deeper recovery courses generated from real weak areas identified in an assessment. Best for remediation, confidence rebuilding, and targeted improvement before the next practice or test.

Goal Roadmap

Every learning goal now has a concise roadmap popup that gives learners clarity on what to do next without long reading.

Where to Find It

Go to Learning Progress → open a goal card → click View Roadmap (shown next to the due date badge).

Roadmap Structure

  • You are here: Current starting point and context
  • Understanding: Core orientation, including “Brilliance of it” when relevant
  • Foundational Understanding: Major concepts snapshot + short required actions
  • Practice & Assessment: Practice sessions, mock tests, then assessments
  • Analytics: Analyze standing, identify weak spots, and take interviews on subject
  • Mastery: Consolidation and execution confidence

Design Principles

  • Short overviews (1-2 lines per stage)
  • Action-first bullets, not essays
  • Timeline windows tied to your goal duration
  • Clear, visual progression from start to mastery

Practice Sessions

Practice Sessions help you move from passive understanding to active recall and performance. Use them after completing foundational concepts.

Recommended Flow

  1. Concept Check: Finish mini-course core concepts for the topic
  2. Timed Practice: Run short sessions on focused subtopics
  3. Mock Tests: Attempt broader mixed-question sets
  4. Assessment: Submit for AI evaluation when your foundation feels stable

Best Practice

Keep Sessions Short

Run 20-40 minute blocks for better intensity and consistency.

Track Mistakes by Pattern

Group errors by concept and process, not just by score.

Re-practice Weak Areas Fast

Do same-day or next-day retries for topics where accuracy drops.

Smart Study Planner

Smart Study Planner turns your goals and pending topics into a realistic execution calendar.

What It Does

Schedules Topic Blocks

Creates time-bound study blocks linked to specific subjects and topics.

Tracks Completion Status

Marks sessions as planned, completed, or missed for execution accountability.

Connects to Activity

Planner entries can be aligned with courses, assessments, and practice tasks.

When to Use It

  • When you have multiple goals and need weekly structure
  • When consistency is your main bottleneck
  • When you want to convert roadmap stages into concrete calendar actions

Our exam environment mimics real computer-based testing platforms to get you exam-ready:

  • Real-time Timer: Practice time management with a countdown timer (standard 2 hours for major exams).
  • Question Palette: Navigate easily between questions. Track status: Answered, Not Answered, or Marked for Review.
  • Bilingual Support: Toggle between English and Hindi instantly for supported papers without losing progress.
  • Performance Analysis: Get detailed insights after submission, including strengths, weaknesses, and recommended next steps.

Practice Papers FAQ

  • What are the upload limits? PDF up to 8 MB and 80 pages maximum.
  • When are upload credits charged? Credits are charged only after successful processing.
  • Why might PDF preview not appear? Generated tests without a source paper may not have a preview. Uploaded papers and official papers should show preview once source PDF is available.
  • Can custom mock tests use my PDF? Yes. In Custom Mock, study material upload is optional and used to guide question generation.

MCP Integration (Model Context Protocol)

Aynstyn exposes its full learning platform as a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server. Connect from Claude Desktop, ChatGPT, Cursor, or any MCP-compatible client and get the complete Aynstyn experience — assessments, gap analysis, interview scheduling, team assessments, playbooks, and autonomous Cal.com booking — without leaving your AI interface.

What is MCP?

The Model Context Protocol is an open standard that lets AI assistants call external tools and services on your behalf. When Aynstyn is connected as an MCP server, your AI assistant can run assessments, diagnose knowledge gaps, create learning goals, and even book sessions for you — all from a single conversation.

How to Connect

1

Claude Desktop

Add the following to your claude_desktop_config.json (found in ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/ on Mac):

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "aynstyn": {
      "url": "https://app.aynstyn.com/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Restart Claude Desktop after saving. You'll be prompted to sign in with your Aynstyn account on first use.

2

ChatGPT (Custom GPT or Actions)

In the ChatGPT platform, add Aynstyn as an MCP server using OAuth authentication:

  • MCP Server URL: https://app.aynstyn.com/mcp
  • Auth Type: OAuth
  • Auth URL: https://app.aynstyn.com/api/oauth/authorize
  • Token URL: https://app.aynstyn.com/api/oauth/token
3

Sign In with Aynstyn

On first connection, you'll be directed to the Aynstyn consent page to authorise access. Sign in with your Google, LinkedIn, or X account — the same credentials you use on Aynstyn — and click Authorize Access. The agent will then have access to all tools under your account.

4

Start Your Session

Once connected, just talk naturally. The agent knows your credits, subscription plan, assessment history, and learning goals from the moment the conversation starts.

Authentication & Access Levels

Signed In (OAuth)

Full access to all 19 tools. Credits are checked and deducted from your account the same as using the app. Autonomous Cal.com booking available if your phone is verified.

Anonymous (No Login)

Only assess_knowledge is available. Limited to 3 assessments per day per IP address. Results are not saved to any profile.

Available Tools

Aynstyn exposes 19 tools to connected agents. Signed-in users have access to all of them.

Profile & Context

  • get_user_profile — Returns your credit balance, subscription plan, phone verification status, and whether autonomous booking is available. The agent calls this at the start of every conversation so it never recommends something you can't afford or that won't work.
  • diagnose_learner — Synthesises your full assessment history into a prioritised gap list in a single call. Returns persistent gaps (topics missing across multiple sessions), stagnant subjects (low scores over 2+ attempts), strong areas, and a ranked list of exactly what to do next. Use this instead of manually browsing history when you want to know where to focus.

Assessments

  • assess_knowledge — The core tool. You explain a subject in your own words; Aynstyn scores it across the MAPPT framework (0–100) and returns covered topics, missing topics, clarity, depth, and personalised feedback. Costs 4 credits. Also available to anonymous users (3/day limit).
  • get_assessment_history — Returns your past assessments with scores and feedback. Use diagnose_learner instead if you want gap analysis — this tool is for browsing raw history.

Sessions & Booking

  • get_interview_slots — Fetches real available slots from the Aynstyn calendar for the next 5 days (configurable). Always call this before booking — never guess a time. Automatically selects phone or web mode based on your account.
  • book_appointment — Books a session. If your phone number is Twilio-verified, the booking is completed fully autonomously via Cal.com — no hand-off, no URL, just a confirmed booking returned inline. If no verified phone, returns a pre-filled booking URL instead. To enable autonomous booking: verify your phone in Settings → Profile.
  • schedule_ai_interview — Returns a link to start a voice-based AI interview on the platform. Use when text assessments consistently score below 60 on the same subject. Costs 6 credits/minute, max 5 minutes.
  • schedule_practice_session — Returns a link to a targeted practice session focused on your weak topics. Costs 6 credits/minute. Best used after diagnose_learner identifies stagnant subjects.
  • get_interview_history — Returns past interview and practice session records with status and date.

Learning Goals & Paths

  • generate_learning_path — Generates 5–10 ordered topics to master for a given goal. Ephemeral — not saved. Best for quick exploration. Costs 5 credits.
  • create_learning_goal — Creates a saved goal with an auto-generated topic path. Each topic becomes an assessable milestone with progress tracking. Use this when the user wants to commit to a goal.
  • list_learning_goals — Returns all saved goals with topics and completion counts.

Playbooks

  • list_playbook_templates — Returns available Recommendation Engine playbook templates (e.g. "Prepare for a technical interview", "Become a better communicator"). Always call this before starting a playbook — never guess a slug.
  • start_playbook_journey — Triggers a full Recommendation Engine run for your account. Creates a structured sequence of assessments, interviews, and reflection prompts with optional planner integration.

Team Assessments

  • create_team_assessment — Creates a team knowledge audit. Set a title, subject, max members (up to 10), and optional deadline. Costs 25 credits. Members take the assessment for free. Results are fully anonymous — only aggregate stats are shown.
  • invite_to_team — Sends email invitations to team members for a team assessment (up to 10 emails at once).
  • get_team_results — Returns the aggregate dashboard: completion rate, score distribution, topic heatmap, most covered and most missed topics. Aggregates are only shown once 2+ members have completed. The most actionable field is mostMissedTopics.
  • send_team_reminder — Emails incomplete members a reminder. Rate limited to 2 per week with a minimum 3 days between sends. Call get_team_results first to confirm there are actually pending members before sending.
  • get_pending_team_assessments — Lists team assessments you have joined but not yet completed.

Credit Costs

Text Assessment

4 credits per assess_knowledge call.

AI Interview / Practice

6 credits/minute via schedule_ai_interview or schedule_practice_session.

Learning Path

5 credits per generate_learning_path call.

Team Assessment

25 credits to create via create_team_assessment. Members take for free.

Example Conversations

Knowledge check

"Assess my understanding of React hooks. I know about useState for local state and useEffect for side effects — it runs after every render unless you pass a dependency array..."

→ Agent calls assess_knowledge and returns your score, covered topics, missing topics (e.g. useCallback, useMemo), and personalised feedback.

Gap analysis

"Where should I focus my studying this week?"

→ Agent calls diagnose_learner and returns your persistent gaps, stagnant subjects, and a ranked list of exactly what to do next (e.g. "switch to voice interview for System Design — text scores haven't broken 55 in 3 attempts").

Autonomous booking (verified phone required)

"Book me a practice session for tomorrow at 3pm."

→ Agent calls get_interview_slots to find the nearest available slot, then calls book_appointment to complete the Cal.com booking inline — no app, no URL, just a confirmation returned in chat.

Team audit

"Create a team assessment on Python for my 5-person engineering team."

→ Agent calls create_team_assessment, returns an invite link, then invite_to_team with their emails. Once 2+ complete, get_team_results shows the aggregate heatmap of what the team knows and what they're missing.
